TAFS Factoring Is Now Part of eCapital: What to Check

By The Haul Factor Team · Updated Nov 1, 2026 · Reviewed against sources Nov 1, 2026 · Some factors pay us a referral fee when a driver signs with them. You pay nothing extra, and it never changes a score or ranking. How we make money

TAFS and Instapay Freight Factoring are now part of eCapital. eCapital’s own timeline lists buying Instapay in 2021 and TAFS in 2024. If you signed under either name, your agreement still sets your term, fees and exit. Find out who your factor is today, then read the notice and exit-fee sections.

If you searched “TAFS factoring” and landed on eCapital’s site, that’s why. TAFS is now part of eCapital. That’s the one fact on this page that comes straight from the company.

What happened to your agreement, your rate or your notice date isn’t on any page we read. This page covers what we could source, what we could not, and what to read in your paperwork.

What changed for TAFS drivers?

What the public record shows, read Nov 1, 2026:

  • eCapital’s timeline lists “Bolstered Transportation portfolio with TAFS acquisition” under 2024, and “Acquired Instapay Freight Factoring” under 2021 (eCapital about page). It gives years, not dates.
  • A third-party database, PitchBook, lists the TAFS deal date as March 30, 2024 (PitchBook). eCapital’s page doesn’t give a date, and we found no press release from either company.
  • The old TAFS web address now shows eCapital’s site (tafs.com, checked Nov 1, 2026).
  • eCapital’s login page lists a “Client Portal” described as “Account management portal for freight factoring (TAFS clients)” (eCapital login page).

What we could not find:

  • Whether the TAFS company still exists, or its agreements moved to another eCapital company.
  • Whether rates, fees or terms changed after the deal.
  • Whether a driver’s old TAFS agreement carries the same notice date and exit fee.

For what verified drivers say about eCapital, see its eCapital profile. As of Nov 1, 2026 it shows “Not scored yet” and 0 verified reviews. A factor needs 10 to get a score.

What should I check in my TAFS agreement?

Pull the signed agreement and the fee schedule. Read these parts, in this order:

What to find Why it matters now
The company name on the first page It tells you who the factor was on the day you signed. Compare it with the name on your latest statement.
Term and renewal A contract that renews on its own can renew again while you sort this out.
Notice days, and how notice must be sent Many contracts name a method, such as certified mail, and a mailing address.
Exit or termination fee Put it in dollars, including any formula.
Assignment or successor clause It says whether the factor can pass your agreement to another company, and whether it has to tell you.
Monthly minimums and fee schedule Compare your last statement with one from before the deal. Look at every line, not only the rate.
Release letter and UCC-3 terms These decide how fast you can move to another factor.

The clause finder points to the notice and exit-fee lines if you paste your contract in.

One TruckersReport poster described the notice terms of his own TAFS agreement in 2022:

“I believe per the contract (or at least mine), TAFS required written notice (via USPS Certified Mail), at least one year prior that you would not be renewing your contract for the next fiscal year. Otherwise, the contract automatically renews” (source, TruckersReport, May 2022)

That’s one driver’s account of one contract. Yours may differ, so read yours.

How do I find out who my factor is today?

Four checks, none of which depend on a phone call:

  1. Ask in writing. Email eCapital and ask which company holds your agreement and which address gets your notice. Keep the reply.
  2. Search your state’s UCC records. Look up your business name and see which company is listed as the secured party. A UCC-1 is the lien a factor files on your invoices.
  3. Ask your brokers. Each broker holds a notice of assignment (NOA) that says where to send payment. Confirm the payment details each one has on file.
  4. Compare statements. Put a recent settlement next to an older one. Check the advance, the reserve, and every fee line.

If a name or address doesn’t match your agreement, ask about it in writing before you send anything.

Where do I log in or call about my TAFS account?

eCapital’s login page lists a Client Portal for freight factoring, described as being for TAFS clients. Type ecapital.com into your browser yourself rather than following a link in an email or text. Use the phone number on your agreement or your latest statement, and check that it matches the one on eCapital’s site. We don’t list account phone numbers here.

How do I leave if I signed with TAFS?

Start with the notice date, not the end date. Your last day to give notice is the term end date minus the notice days. Miss it and many contracts renew.

A r/OwnerOperators commenter wrote, in a thread where a driver was near the end of a TAFS contract:

“If you’re going to switch, start about a month before that window comes up.” (source, r/OwnerOperators, Aug 2026)

Read “window” as your notice deadline. Then:

If eCapital is holding money, or charging fees you can’t find in the agreement, put the dispute in writing and call a business lawyer. Bring the agreement, your notice and every reply.

Your next step

Some factors pay us a referral fee when a driver signs with them. You pay nothing extra, and it never changes a score or ranking. We don’t pick a factor for you.

Where these numbers come from

  • Company facts: eCapital’s about page and login page, the TAFS web address and the Instapay web address that eCapital’s own Instapay terms name, read Nov 1, 2026. Both addresses led to eCapital’s site. We report what the pages say. The 2021 and 2024 years are eCapital’s. The March 30, 2024 date is PitchBook’s, a third party.
  • Review count: our own count on the eCapital profile, Nov 1, 2026: 0 verified reviews.
  • Driver quotes: public posts on TruckersReport and Reddit, linked above. Excerpts, unedited except for straight apostrophes. They’re one person’s account.
  • Contract advice: UCC records and notice terms come from your own agreement and your state’s law. General information, not legal advice. For real money at stake, have a business lawyer read the contract.

Common questions

Is TAFS the same as eCapital?

TAFS is now part of eCapital. eCapital’s timeline lists the TAFS acquisition under 2024. Whether your own agreement was moved to another eCapital company isn’t stated on the pages we read. Ask eCapital in writing which company holds it.

Did eCapital buy TAFS?

Yes. eCapital’s timeline lists “Bolstered Transportation portfolio with TAFS acquisition” under 2024. It gives the year only. PitchBook, a third-party database, lists March 30, 2024. We found no press release from either company.

Is Instapay part of eCapital too?

Yes. eCapital’s timeline lists “Acquired Instapay Freight Factoring (transportation)” under 2021. We loaded getinstapay.com on Nov 1, 2026, and it led to eCapital’s site. If you signed under Instapay, read your agreement the same way and ask eCapital in writing who the factor is today.

Did my TAFS contract change when eCapital bought TAFS?

We can’t tell from the public pages. Your signed agreement and fee schedule are the only things that answer it. Compare the company name, notice days, exit fee and fees on your latest statement with what you signed.

Can I leave a TAFS contract?

Yes, on the terms in your agreement. Find the notice days, how notice must be sent, and the exit fee in dollars. Send notice before the deadline and keep proof. The Exit Kit has the notice letter and the release templates.

Where do I log in to my TAFS account?

eCapital’s login page lists a Client Portal described as being for freight factoring TAFS clients. Type ecapital.com yourself instead of following an emailed link, and use the phone number on your agreement or latest statement.

How do I check who holds the lien on my invoices?

Search your state’s UCC records for your business name. The secured party listed on the UCC-1 is the company with the lien. If it isn’t who you expect, ask your factor in writing. This isn’t legal advice.
