Fleet One Factoring is now WEX Capital. WEX Capital’s about page says so, and WEX announced the new name on May 2, 2022. If you signed under the Fleet One name, your agreement still sets your term, fees and exit. Check the company name on it, the notice days and the exit fee.
If you typed “Fleet One factoring” and landed on a WEX Capital page, that’s the reason. The company changed its name. WEX Capital says so itself, which makes this an easier story to source than most.
The name is also confusing. WEX still uses “Fleet One” on a fuel card. This page covers what we could source, what we could not, and what to read in your paperwork.
What changed for Fleet One drivers?
What the public record shows, read Nov 1, 2026:
- WEX Capital’s about page is headed “Fleet One Factoring is now WEX Capital.” (WEX Capital about page).
- WEX’s announcement, dated May 2, 2022, says WEX launched WEX Capital, “Formerly known as Fleet One Factoring,” and that the business is backed by WEX Bank (WEX announcement, as published by the Secured Finance Network).
- Fleet One joined WEX in 2012. Wright Express, WEX’s earlier name, announced it completed the Fleet One acquisition on Oct 4, 2012 (WEX press release).
- The old web address, fleetonefactoring.com, redirects to wexcapital.com (checked Nov 1, 2026).
- The Fleet One name still exists on the fuel card. WEX Capital’s home page refers to the “Fleet One Card Control mobile app” and “Fleet One Edge cardholders” (WEX Capital home page).
What we could not find:
- Whether agreements signed as Fleet One Factoring stayed on the same terms.
- Whether the company on your agreement is the same legal company today.
- WEX Capital’s contract length, notice days or exit fee. Its pages we read don’t state them.
For what verified drivers say about WEX Capital, see its WEX Capital profile. As of Nov 1, 2026 it shows “Not scored yet” and 0 verified reviews. A factor needs 10 to get a score.
What should I check in my Fleet One agreement?
Pull the signed agreement and the fee schedule. Read these parts, in this order:
| What to find | Why it matters now |
|---|---|
| The company name on the first page | It says who the factor was the day you signed. Compare it with the name on your latest statement. |
| Term and renewal | A contract that renews on its own can renew again while you sort this out. |
| Notice days, and how notice must be sent | Many contracts name a method and an address. |
| Exit or termination fee | Put it in dollars, including any formula. |
| Assignment or successor clause | It says whether the factor can pass your agreement to another company. |
| Fee schedule and any minimums | Compare a recent statement with an older one. Look at every line, not only the rate. |
| Fuel card terms | If you have a Fleet One fuel card, read whether it’s tied to the factoring account. Ask what happens to it if you leave. |
| Release letter and UCC-3 terms | These decide how fast you can move to another factor. |
WEX Capital’s own page agrees on the exit point. Its contract checklist says: “Typically, you will be required to send a notice of termination a certain number of days before the contract expires.” (source, WEX Capital home page, read Nov 1, 2026).
An r/OwnerOperators commenter gave the short version of the whole list:
“Compare reserves, recourse and exit fees, not just the factoring rate.” (source, r/OwnerOperators, Oct 2026)
The clause finder points to the notice and exit-fee lines if you paste your contract in.
How do I find out who my factor is today?
Four checks, none of which depend on a phone call:
- Ask in writing. Email WEX Capital and ask which company holds your agreement and where notice must go. Keep the reply.
- Search your state’s UCC records. Look up your business name and see which company is listed as the secured party. A UCC-1 is the lien a factor files on your invoices.
- Ask your brokers. Each broker holds a notice of assignment (NOA) that says where to send payment. Confirm the payment details each one has on file.
- Compare statements. Put a recent settlement next to an older one. Check the advance, the reserve and every fee line.
A driver on r/OwnerOperators asked about WEX factoring in September 2024. The driver wrote:
“They called and offered 1.5%, but this is all in words. I haven’t seen the contract yet” (source, r/OwnerOperators, Sep 2024)
That’s a phone offer, not a published rate. Whatever a factor says on a call, ask for the agreement and read it before you cancel anything.
Is a Fleet One fuel card the same as WEX Capital factoring?
WEX Capital’s home page describes a fuel card program that comes with factoring and refers to a “Fleet One Card Control mobile app.” That means a “Fleet One” line on a statement or app can be the card, not the factoring account. The pages we read don’t say which fees or terms belong to which. Ask WEX Capital in writing, and read the card terms apart from the factoring agreement.
How do I leave if I signed with Fleet One?
Start with the notice date, not the end date. Your last day to give notice is the term end date minus the notice days. Miss it and many contracts renew.
- To leave and not factor again, use how to get out of a factoring contract and the notice letter template.
- To move to another factor, use how to switch factoring companies. It covers a cutover at the end of the term versus a buyout.
- Ask for the release letters and the UCC-3 in the same letter. The payoff and release template and the UCC-3 request template cover both.
If a factor is holding money, or charging fees you can’t find in the agreement, put the dispute in writing and call a business lawyer. Bring the agreement, your notice and every reply.

Where these numbers come from
- Company facts: WEX Capital’s about page and home page, the Fleet One web address, the WEX announcement (May 2, 2022) and the WEX press release (Oct 4, 2012), read Nov 1, 2026. We report what the pages say.
- Review count: our own count on the WEX Capital profile, Nov 1, 2026: 0 verified reviews.
- Driver quotes: public posts on Reddit, linked above. Excerpts, unedited except for straight apostrophes. They’re one person’s account.
- Contract advice: UCC records and notice terms come from your own agreement and your state’s law. General information, not legal advice. For real money at stake, have a business lawyer read the contract.
Common questions
Is Fleet One factoring the same as WEX Capital?
Yes. WEX Capital’s about page says “Fleet One Factoring is now WEX Capital,” and WEX’s May 2, 2022 announcement calls it formerly known as Fleet One Factoring. Whether your own agreement kept the same terms isn’t stated. Check the company name on it.
When did Fleet One Factoring become WEX Capital?
WEX announced the launch of WEX Capital on May 2, 2022. The announcement says the business was formerly known as Fleet One Factoring. WEX had completed its purchase of Fleet One on Oct 4, 2012, according to its press release.
Did my Fleet One contract change when it became WEX Capital?
We can’t tell from the public pages. Your signed agreement and fee schedule are the only things that answer it. Compare the company name, notice days, exit fee and the fees on your latest statement with what you signed.
Can I leave a Fleet One factoring contract?
Yes, on the terms in your agreement. Find the notice days, how notice must be sent, and the exit fee in dollars. Send notice before the deadline and keep proof. The Exit Kit has the notice letter and the release templates.
Is a Fleet One fuel card the same as factoring?
Not necessarily. WEX Capital’s home page refers to a Fleet One Card Control app alongside its factoring. A Fleet One line on your statement can be the card or the factoring. Ask WEX Capital in writing and read the card terms on their own.
Does fleetonefactoring.com still work?
The old address redirects to wexcapital.com, checked Nov 1, 2026. Type the address into your browser yourself instead of following a link in an email or text, and use the phone number on your agreement or latest statement.
