How we make money

Some factors pay us. Here is how, and why it can’t change a score.

How we’re paid

Some factors pay us a referral fee when a driver signs with them. You pay nothing extra, and it never changes a score or ranking.

When a driver asks a partner factor for a quote through our site (the “Get a quote” button on a partner’s page), signs and funds, the factor pays us a referral fee: a share of what it earns on that driver, for as long as the driver stays. The amounts differ by factor and aren’t published. It costs the driver nothing extra. What a factor pays us never changes a score or a ranking. Factors that haven’t joined show a “Visit site” link instead and don’t pay us for it. Not sure which factor to ask? Read driver reviews first.

Why pay can’t change a score

  • The scoring system has no input for partner status. It reads verified review answers only.
  • Rankings and leaderboards are sorted by score and nothing else. No sponsor slots, and no paid placement.
  • Every score run is logged with the data it used, so the claim can be checked.
  • Bad scores of partner factors are published exactly like anyone else’s.

What every factor is told

  • Your score is published honestly, good or bad.
  • You can reply to any review, in public.
  • You can’t pay to change a score, a ranking, where you’re placed, or a review.
  • Commission terms are agreed with each factor in writing and can differ by factor.
  • If you decline, you’re still listed, with the same page and the same score treatment, and a plain “Visit site” link instead of a quote button.

How to tell on the page

  • Partner tag and a Get a quote button: the factor pays us if you sign through that button. A factor that isn’t a partner shows Visit site instead, a plain link to its own site.
  • The same score ring and the same reviews appear on both kinds of page. A partner never gets a bigger ring or a higher spot. The only difference is the Partner tag and the quote button where another factor has Visit site. A partner’s page doesn’t link straight to its own site, because the quote form is how we’re paid. If a partner’s button is off for a while, its page says so.
  • The list is on one page: who pays us →

If a factor stops paying, or never starts

Nothing changes about its page. Its score and reviews stay up and its place in any list stays the same. A factor that declines to be a partner is still listed, scored and open to public replies.

Other ways we may earn later

We may offer factors paid tools around the public reply (alerts, analytics), labeled sponsorships, and aggregate industry reports. None of it will affect a score, a ranking or what a review says, and sponsored content will always be marked. We’ll update this page before any of it starts.
